Granite Civic Memorials

Our abilities to provide superior monuments for public locations include works of various sizes for many purposes.

A new marble Memorial Wall was constructed by Mortimer's Monumental Works inside Victoria's new arena. It is the largest monument to Veterans and Peacekeepers ever to be built in Victoria. Planning and design by Irwin Kew Architecture Inc. of Victoria began two years ago and construction was completed in early 2005. This Memorial Wall is one of our proudest achievements.

We have supplied conventional memorials for Veterans Cemetery sections, including a Cross of Sacrifice for a cemetery in Victoria, BC., a Navy Monument, commemorating 54 seamen buried in unmarked graves in an old cemetery - turned park, and a tall granite monument to identify a Veterans Field of Honour.

In the front of a local community center we installed a 13,000 lb. column of stone as a commemorative monument. Standing 13' tall, it dominates a water feature.

When the Commonwealth Games were in Victoria in 1994, Mortimer's Monumental Works Ltd. was commissioned to supply and install a granite plaque on the wall of the lower Causeway. This 6500 lb. piece, 6' x 12' and 6" thick holds the bronze flags of each country in the British Commonwealth.

Other works are signage for airports, sports arenas and local historical attractions. We are able to assist you with the design and supply to suit your needs.
